Lack of Motivation in studets

Student’s motivation is an important but, ephemeral component in education. The author of the article “Motivation” asks where motivation goes. Honestly, that question is completely wrong for me. Why? I will tell you the reason.

As Dr Andrew Littlejohn, the author, says “human beings are naturally motivated, that is children are very curious and it seems to they were always ready to learn”. Unfortunately, the more students are in the school, the less motivated they are. According to Littleton’s point of view the students loose their desire for learning, because of a lack of good feedback, good tasks.

For this reason the article is actually incomplete. The author is only focusing in a little part of the lack of the motivation in older students. He did not see all these element involved and learning and moreover, what about teaching? A good teacher is not this man or woman who plans funny classes, she must consider the tastes, culture, and personal history of the students.

Even though, the article gives us a big challenge, to do “a real investigation”, we have to pay attention in all the main facts involved in educational system. And improve our teaching , because, how many teachers make a critic of their own job?

For this reason, Littlejohn should not only pay attention in students´job, he should improve their own. Because, a teacher is not the only one who teachs..students, too.

Feli:

I completely agree with you, because we, as teahers, have to consider the context which are involved the students. If we consider it, our work it will be easier.

Hi!

Well, I agree with your point of view, but what I wanted to say it was that students dont want to learn because they dont know what it is that.
About what you said, I think that a good teacher could be a man or woman who plans funny classes, why they shouldnt do that? A good teacher can mix everything in a good class. And thats doesnt mean that it has to be boring. We have to attrac the atention of the students.

See you...

Hello Felipe,

Certainly there are many factors which interrupt the process of learning, such as the lack of enough time to assist to all of our students. I know we could get better results if we had a pertinent number of pupils to work with.

Good post!
See you.

I totally agree with you, Felipe. I also think that the problem is not that students loose their desire for learning, because of a lack of good feedback, it's a more complicated issue. Family problems, self esteem, culture, etc.

It seems to me that you did not read the last part of the article, due to thefact that there were a list of tips which recommended to ask students what they think about classes: if activities were interesting or not, if these activities were helpful enough for learning process;about tests, if it lets ths students express all their knowledge, if they considered it was appropiate or not to evualate their learning process. As well, there says that the teacher should consider the interests and their ability or skills, etc.

Therefore , you had better to reread the article. Your points of view are certainly right, though.

Bye.

I`m not complete agree with you, try to open your mind and see that children are always motivated by the society, not only in their houses, for instance the author is right " children are very curious and it seems to they were always ready to learn" The main factor here is how we as a future teachers can motivated those children, it will be good idea to develop that point according to public and private scholls.

Take care ^^
bye bye

Dear I agree with you just in a way....
You are right when you say that motivation can be related with the number of students per classroom, but I think the tips that the author gives us are really important and can make the difference!

Love U!
